MINUTES

Present: Chairman Vince Thomas, President David Clark, Art Collins, Jim Babcock, Ed Brickell, Jim Chapman, Durwood Curling, Clyde Hoey, Doyle Hull, Anna McNider, Harry Train, Jake Tobin

Chairman Thomas opened the meeting at 10:00.

The minutes of the Executive Committee meeting of August 24, 2004, were approved.

Jim Babcock reviewed the work of the Steering Committee. (The minutes of the Planning Committee meeting of 26 October 2004, including a summary of the Steering Committees work, is attached for the record.)

Anna McNider briefly discussed the formation of the Legislative Agenda Committee. The committee is attempting to gather legislative agendas from groups throughout the region. The committee's work will be most important when the Economic Competitiveness opportunities are well defined. The Committee intends to meet with Legislators to press for issues of import to FHR.

President Clark reported on the Chambers Interregional Visit to Nashville. (A copy of his report is attached for the record.)

President Clark then introduced the Hampton Roads Partnerships "Resolution Urging Immediate General Assembly Action to Address the Commonwealth of Virginia's Transportation Crisis". HRP has asked FHR to endorse this resolution. Endorsement of the Resolution was approved by unanimous vote of the Executive Committee members present.
